(1) Friday, March 28th Pfizer Tour /Groton CT
Jorge Funes, Pfizer Scientist and STRONG-CT Advisory Board member (many of you met him at the Welcome Event) has coordinated the visit of STRONG-CT students to tour the Pfizer facility, meet other employees of the Groton campus, and find out about career opportunities within Pfizer.
Trip Details: The tour/visit will begin at 2:00PM and will last until 4:30. We will need to leave UConn by 1:00PM and should be back on campus by 5:30PM
(2) Friday, April 11th CT River Expedition / River Quest Tour
Cruise down the CT river hosted by environmentalists and naturalists knowledgeable about the environmental issues and wildlife concerns with the river. Topics will include water quality, management of CT resources, and no point source pollution issues. At this time of the year, the river is home to migrating Bald Eagles and occasional Gold Eagles - so a good piece of the discussion will be devoted to eagle biology and ecology.

Trip Details: The River Quest cruise will run out of Essex at approximately 1:00AM and will last about 2 hours. We will need to leave UConn no later than 11:00AM. We expect to be back to UConn by 3:00PM.
(3) Saturday, April 19th Rapid Bio-Assessment / Salem rivers and streams
This particular event is also dependent on weather conditions.
Trip Details: Led by Diba Khan Bureau, Professor of Environmental & Civil Engineering/Director of STRONG-CT at Three Rivers Community College. This activity will consist of hands on field research with the extraction of specimens within area streams and rivers. Students may also need to be briefed beforehand (minor training) in order to participate.
(4) Friday, April 25th End of the Semester BBQ
End of the year celebration will be held in the Lester E. Shippe Residence Hall (1st Floor area). BBQ will go from 5:00-7:00PM.
